New Balance Running Shoes

New Balance have always been innovative in its shoe design and technology, and we have been impressed by its minimal range of shoes and the effect barefoot running has had on their heel based shoes. We have found New Balance shoes to have the best balance between softness and lightweight construction compared with rival brands. New Balance use Abzorb and N2 as its main shock absorbing technologies. Abzorb is located in the midfoot, and is designed specifically to reduce shock on impact. N2 compliments Abzorb by providing a responsive energy return. Its low profile construction means that you get maximum shock absorption in a lightweight construction.  To further enhance this responsive lightweight feel, New Balance have developed REVlite, a foam that has maximum durability and is 30% lighter than rival responsive foams.

For support, New Balance uses T-Beam that links the heel to toe by providing torsional stability through the arch. It’s lightweight and has a level of flexibility to move with your foot and provide guidance through the transitional phase of the stride. In its road shoes New Balance use Ndurance, a strong rubber outsole that is designed to be durable against impact on hard surfaces such as concrete, but in their trail and minimal range it uses a Vibram outsole that has exceptional multi-directional grip to avoid slipping in wet and muddy conditions.
