Hydration is an extremely important factor in running as water accounts for approximately 60% of your body weight, keeps your temperature regulated and helps transport nutrients around your body to muscles and joints. So it is very important to drink water regularly on long runs though every individual is different and the amount of water needed to hydrate varies from person to person. It is also important to rehydrate after exercise and is best achieved by sipping at intervals. There are a wide range of water bottles to choose from. Hand held bottles are larger and are ideal for the gym. For longer runs, hydration belts will carry 2 - 4 small bottles that attach securely to the belt and can be accessed easily when needed. For the extreme runner, bladder packs are ideal as they fit inside specially designed backpacks.
